Are you drinking enough Water?

Have you noticed that people who are overweight or obese tend to drink less water and eat more! Well, try to observe this and you would find this is so true! Again, look out for people who have that poor muscles, digestive complications .Another check and yes they do not drink enough water!

After air, our biggest need for existence/survival is water. A normal person has 65-70 percent of water in his/her body. You can survive without food for months, but without water those are just few days (not to mention the few minutes without air!!).Water is required to remove the toxic wastes in our body, failure of which would result in deaths. Water is as much required for metabolism and digestion. It carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells through the blood and helps to cool the body through perspiration. Water also lubricates our joints.

The average amount of water, a person has to drink is about 2.75 litres of water .This includes all the forms of liquid (those coffee cups, sodas count!).To be precise it is eight-ten ounce glasses of water a day. And of course you would need more if you are exercising or living in hot climate. Overweight people should drink in an extra glass for every 25 pounds they exceed their ideal weight. Consult your own physician for their recommendations

The International Sports Medicine Institute have calculated the formula of the daily drinking intake as: 1/2 ounce per pound of body weight if you're not active (that's ten eight-ounce glasses if you weigh 160 pounds), and 2/3 ounce per pound if you're athletic (13 to 14 glasses a day, at the same weight).

Your intake should be spread throughout the day and evening. You may wonder: If I drink this much, won't I constantly be running to the bathroom? Yes. But after a few weeks, your bladder tends to adjust and you urinate less frequently but in larger amounts.

And by consuming those eight to ten glasses of water throughout the day, you could be on your way to a healthier, leaner body.
